Babylon's Fall is a game that had recently gone dark following a delay and controversial showing at digital events. It was first announced at E3 in 2018 and initially drew excitement thanks to the partnership between Platinum Games and Square Enix.
It's another live service title for Square Enix who recently came out and trash-talked its other one, Marvel's Avengers, for underperforming. So, will Babylon's Fall be able to turn around Square's perception of these titles and produce a winning formula? You can find out for yourself when the game releases very soon...
LATEST - Hours to go!
There are just a few hours left until the full release of Babylon's fall. We've detailed the exact time that you can get your hands on the game depending on which platform you'll be playing on.
It's a slightly longer wait for PC players as they need to wait for the Steam store to update which is done universally at 09:00 PST.
Babylon's Fall Release Countdown
Babylon's Fall is actually already available if you purchased the Deluxe Edition of the game. This version came with 3 days of early access ahead of the official full launch on Thursday, 3 March.
Servers will be live for all PlayStation players from 01:00 PST / 04:00 EST / 09:00 EST / 10:00 CET on 3 March. For anyone who will be playing on Steam, the game will launch a little later at 09:00 BST / 12:00 EST / 17:00 GMT / 18:00 CET.
The later Steam release is likely as it will coincide with the universal update time for the Steam store.
You can also play the pre-release demo for free on PlayStation right now. This is a great way to experience the early parts of the game to determine whether or not you want to invest in the full release.
As a live service game, you can expect a ton of updates over the coming months as well as exciting new content. In fact, a Nier: Automata crossover has already been announced as coming to the game post-launch.
While details are thin at this moment in time, we do know that Nier-themed cosmetics will be coming to Babylon's Fall as well as some in-game items like weapons. It's a great way for Platinum Games to shine a light and bring attention to this new IP while also repping their highly popular Nier brand.
