Minecraft Caves and Cliffs Part 1 is Now Live

Minecraft fans all over the world have had one thing on their mind since its first reveal in 2020 - Minecraft Caves & Cliffs.

The massive update was split into two parts, and it's finally time, as the first part is now live!

Minecraft Caves & Cliffs Part 1 is a massive update, including many of the new mobs and blocks from the 1.17 reveal.

With so much in its patch notes, we've broken out the highlights which you can read over below:

• Added Block of Amethyst, Budding Amethyst, Amethyst Cluster, and Amethyst Bud
• Added Block of Raw Iron, Copper, and Gold
• Added Candles
• Added Copper

What Time Will Minecraft Caves & Cliffs Update Part 1 Go Live?

We know that Minecraft Caves & Cliffs Part 1 is due to launch on June 8, for all regions, on all platforms.

What we don't know exactly, at least at the time of this writing, is what time the update will go live in each region.

Now, it could be that the update will go live at 12 AM on June 8th in each region, as that time rolls around, or it may come out at an unspecified time in all regions at precisely the same time.

However, following the trend set by other Minecraft update and the 1.17 pre-releases, we expect Minecraft's Caves & Cliffs update to go live at around 12pm ET/5pm BST on June 8.

We know less about Part 2, as it is obviously a lot further out. Mojang will confirm that release date when we get a little bit closer, but it is expected to launch sometime during the holiday season in 2021.

That could mean a release anywhere from October to December, but it is probably best to split the difference and expect Part 2 to launch somewhere in mid-November.
