Riot Games has released a new Zeri hotfix update after the developers stated that their initial LoL 12.7 nerfs on the Spark of Zaun were an "overshot" on their part.
Here's everything you need to know about the Zeri hotfix now live ahead of LoL 12.8.
Zeri was too much of an electric spark
To say that Zeri has been a dominant champion since her release in LoL 12.2 is an understatement. She was an absolute ball of energy, zip zapping around as she took down her targets with ease. This led to an emergency week-one hotfix, and later on, five total nerfs.
One of these nerfs was in the most recent 12.7 patch that focused on “bring[ing] her bruiser build more in line with her crit build, as well as mak[ing] her stacks and on-hits more predictable,” according to Riot. While they may have had the intended effect of allowing enemies to “catch Zeri before she starts zipping circles around them.”
It was a nerf that aimed to make her build go crit-focused with her items as opposed to AD items that granted her significant amounts of health such as Trinity Force and Titanic Hydra.
This dropped the champion that once held a 51.21% win rate across all ranks down to a whopping 42.82 percent win rate, according to stats site u.gg.
Zeri hotfix patch notes
Admitting they "overshot" with the nerfs, Riot lead champion designer, August Browning, detailed on Twitter that a hotfix for her has been sent out.
Here's what the Zeri buffs in today's hotfix update look like:
Base stats
- Health: 500 ⇒ 530
Q - Burst Fire
- Lightning Crash and Spark Surge refreshes on critical strikes: 2 ⇒ 3
W - Ultrashock Laser
- Slow duration: 1-2 ⇒ 2
- AD Ratio: 1.2 ⇒ 1.4
E - Spark Surge
- Cooldown: 28-22 ⇒ 26-22
These changes look to give the champion an extra pep in her step to will Zeri rise to prominence again.
The Zeri hotfixes have been live since Thursday, April 14, 2022.
