LoL Arena: How to rank up

LoL Arena

LoL Arena

LoL Arena features a unique ranked system with fewer tiers but just as much excitement as the Summoner's Rift ranked system. Part of what makes this limited-time game mode's ranked system unique is how players rank up in it.

Winning still ranks you up while losing takes away your Ranking Points, but the exact mechanics of ranking up are different in this mode. You must understand how the LoL Arena ranking system works if you want to rank up as fast as possible.

So let's find out how ranking up works in LoL Arena mode, and what is the fastest way to climb.

LoL Arena ranked system

LoL Arena starts all players from the same point: Wood tier. Each player kicks off with a measly 500 Ranking Points, but they're given five entire games where they can climb up the ranks without the risk of losing Points if they don't win. This lets players learn the ropes of Arena mode without discouraging them from climbing from the onset.

Similar to the current Summoner's Rift ranked system, there also aren't any promotion games in the Arena mode. In the absence of promotion games, players simply rank up when they hit a certain rank's point threshold and drop down a rank when they fall below that threshold.

But how can you rank up in Lol Arena? Let's find that out right now!

How to rank up in LoL Arena

You don't have to win the game, beating the three other duos, to earn points. If that were the case, it would give only one out of four duos a chance of winning points and ranking up each time they clocked into a match.

This would make it incredibly hard to climb. So to even those odds, Riot Games made it so that coming either 1st or 2nd earns you ranking points, while only the 3rd and 4th place duo lose any points.

This makes it so that there are always two winners and two losers at the end of any Arena match. All of this makes ranking up in LoL Arena mode a lot more accessible than it would otherwise be.

So, simply put, the fastest way to climb in LoL Arena is to constantly be in the top 2. For that, you need to understand the Arena meta and know which champions are strong in the mode.
