After several solid wins at the Annie awards this year, Arcane has been nominated for two Emmy awards. This is a first for Riot Games as they venture from video games to Netflix.
The critically acclaimed show not only has been up for many awards but has adoring fans everywhere. It only makes sense that the work of the Riot Games team has been rewarded after a long process to make the show.
Arcane delves into the origin story of Jinx and Vi, looking at the dysfunction between Zaun and Piltover too. Many other recognisable faces such as Viktor, Jayce, and Caitlyn are all included too. There's even the possibility for a second season.
With the show's success, let's look at how Arcane has become so successful.

"Outstanding Animated Program" Emmy for Arcane
The Riot Arcane show has been nominated for two Emmy's. The first of the two is the Outstanding Animated Program Emmy. Arcane will be facing off against some animated classics such as Bob's Burgers and The Simpsons. Going against animated giants such as these will be tricky... but we have faith.
Other shows nominated for the 74th Emmy awards are...
- Arcane
- Bob's Burgers
- Rock and Morty
- The Simpsons
- What If...?
Arcane and What If...? are newbies at the awards ceremony. However, with the success of Arcane and how fans are still discussing it, our hopes are high.
"Outstanding Short Form Animated Program" Emmy
Arcane has also been nominated for the Outstanding Short Form Animated Program Emmy. Plenty of Netflix shows are included in the nominations for this.
Here are the nominations...
- Love Death + Robots
- Robot Chicken
- Star Wars: Visions
- The Boys: Diabolical
- When Billie Met Lisa
Cartoons have always had trouble when being compared to longer series such as The Walking Dead or Game of Thrones. Hopefully, this Emmy award will show just how good cartoons are, and that they aren't just for children.
We're hoping that winning this Emmy will provide the funds for even more in season two of the show... and maybe some more League of Legends skins.
