League of Legends Preseason 2023 will soon be here in the live game and it brings some big changes.

With new jungle pets, recommendations galore, and a new ping system, the game will be much more accessible.

However, one of the biggest changes is the adjustments made to the gold and XP systems.

It seems that these changes will help top laners to get more involved in team fights and objectives.

So, let's take a look at the gold and XP changes in the League of Legends Preseason 2023.

League of Legends Jungle XP and Gold Changes

As always, the end of the year means a huge overhaul of the game to improve it for all players.

One of the underappreciated groups of players, junglers, is getting some big changes to increase the fun.

Here are the biggest changes coming to the XP and gold in the jungle role.

Jungle Pets XP and Gold Changes in Preseason 2023

Jungle pets are huge for junglers in the newest preseason as for every treat they consume, they get 50 gold.

From 2:30 onwards, junglers will get given these treats every minute to give to their loyal pets.

Bonus XP will also be earned from jungle-specific items. This has increased from 60 XP to 75 in the preseason.

Jungle Camp XP and Gold Changes

To help support the new pets, jungle camps will have a decrease in XP and gold earned.

Here's what to expect in the jungle...

  • Krugs, Wolves, and Raptors are worth less gold and XP.
  • Jungle camps have less XP to compensate for the 15 Bonus XP gained due to jungle items.
  • Gold is being reduced in all camps to compensate for the gold earned from pet treats.

These changes aren't too damning for jungle players though. They just help jungle pets worm their way into the meta.

Solo Lane XP and Gold Changes

This one goes out to all the solo laners in League of Legends.

Top and mid-laners will benefit from these changes as Riot is going to up the XP percentage from 93% to 95%.

However, all this must be balanced and mid-laners will experience this too as every single minion before the 14-minute mark is worth 1 gold less.

Turret Gold and XP Changes

Tower plates will now be giving 175 instead of 160 gold after the preseason 2023 release date in League of Legends.

Magic Resist and Armor will be increased on the plates too which means that destroying towers is harder.

It feels that Riot Games are once again trying to make games last longer as they did back in the durability update.
