League of Legends LEC Summer Split 2022 Week 1 Results

With many memorable matches, the first week of the League of Legends LEC is done. The fan's predictions were pretty accurate. with only a few exceptions to how players thought the games would go.

So far, it seems that G2 are once again in the runnings for the win. Their power as a team has run wild since the spring split as they proved to the enemies why they are there.

There has been only one clean slate with G2 this week. Winning 3-0 was the only score which was perfect. Five other teams are also sitting comfortably with a 2-1 win though.

Teams who travel for MSI 2022 are usually predicted to have a less clean start to their next tournament. Tiredness from a busy schedule can catch up with them. And in a mental game that is League of Legends, this can be disastrous.

With less time to study the new meta, G2 was thought to be on a bit of a backburner. But they have started this split with a bang. Especially compared to the loss against Fnatic in the spring split.

Fnatic

A fan favourite all around, Fnatic have performed brilliantly which is usual for the League of Legends team. Unfortunately, they did drop a game to EXCEL. Nukeduck had a brilliant presence in-game which carried EXCEL for the win.

Astralis

Astralis have been on a bit of a back-burner recently. Taking risks with new additions to the team has seemed to work out for them as they battered their way to a 2-1 win. The loss they faced was against G2 and as they are a very strong League of Legends team right now, it only makes sense.

MAD Lions

MAD Lions had a seemingly easy time in the first week. Their lost match against Rogue was more affected by luck than a bad performance. Lions level of play could be held up to the pedestal of G2 with the plays they managed to pull off. Seeing these two in a match later on may bring interesting results.

Rogue

The team that should be doing much better than it is. One is needed for every tournament and unfortunately Rogue has taken that spot. Their time in between the spring and summer split of the LEC has not been used correctly to study the new meta.

Team EXCEL

Team EXCEL's recent League of Legends Korean Bootcamp has seemed to work wonders as their games seemed effortlessly simple. Another loss to G2 is not something to knock their confidence, but to boost it as they held their own.
