After a couple of delays, GTA V's next gen version is finally almost here. Due to some deals and agreements, the pricing structure is a little complicated. If you want to jump into Los Santos again on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, we have all the GTA V preload and pricing details you need.
Preload GTA V Next-Gen Now
Ahead of release next week, you can preload GTA V on PS5 and Xbox Series X now.
Of course, you'll have to wait until March 15 to actually play the game, but you can get everything prepared ahead of time. The game unlocks at midnight local time on March 15, so preloading will be very helpful if you plan on picking up the game.
The full game file is coming in at about 90GB on both consoles, but that may increase with updates in the coming weeks.
PS5 & Xbox Series X Price Breakdown
As for how much you'll need to pay to download GTA V on next-gen consoles, it's all a bit confusing. It depends what exactly you're buying, when you buy it, and what console you're playing on. We'll break down the details below:
The official full price on both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S is £34.99 / $39.99. That price will come into affect in June, with a discount in place until then.
PS5
On PlayStation, GTA V is £8.75 / $9.99 and any PS Plus subscribers can download GTA Online free of charge. You can then keep the Online mode for free for ever.
It will remain at that price from March 15 until June, at which point it will go back to full price and Online will not be free.
Xbox Series X|S
On Xbox Series X|S, you can buy both GTA V's story mode and GTA Online for £17.49 / $19.99.
That price is higher becuase GTA Online isn't free to anyone. If you're not interested in playing the story again, you can buy GTA Online alone for £8.99 / $9.99. It's not clear how much Online will cost alone come June.
