After a 12-year wait, we finally got our very first look at GTA 6 over two weeks ago now. Nope, it wasn't a dream, it really did happen!
It all still feels a bit surreal, and despite the confirmed 2025 release date, excitement levels remain through the roof. The official trailer published by Rockstar Games has been viewed over a staggering 155 million times so far, breaking numerous records as a result.
Details surrounding GTA 6 are limited, with its features, storyline, and map all remaining a tight-lipped secret, but the trailer, along with previous titles in the series, could answer one of the most important questions of all.
Will Inter Miami CF be in GTA 6?
At this very early stage, there are still a lot of unanswered questions when it comes to GTA 6, but what we do know is that it will be set in the fictional open-world state of Leonida, based on Florida. It will also include Vice City, a fictional version of Miami, with real-life locations appearing in the game.
While this doesn't come as a surprise or confirm anything in particular, it does mean that Inter Miami's stadium, Drive Pink, has a chance of featuring. This is reiterated by the fact that real sports venues are confirmed to be in GTA 6, with Miami Heat's Kaseya Center making an appearance in the trailer.
Interestingly, the Inter Miami stadium is a short drive from Fort Lauderdale, which appeared in Vice City. Although it was a part of Vice Beach and didn't have its own dedicated area as such, that may no longer be the case in GTA 6.
Fort Lauderdale is around 30 miles away from Miami, which is where the majority of the trailer was based, but that doesn't necessarily mean it won't be in the game.
That's because Rockstar describes GTA 6 as the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet, so we're expecting the map to be pretty large and detailed!
Inter Miami CF and the Drive Pink stadium won't be officially licenced in GTA 6 should they feature in the game, meaning a fictional stadium and team will be used instead.
Messi to make surprise appearance?
Although celebrities have been known more for their voice acting in GTA over the years, some have even appeared as themselves, including Ricky Gervais and Phil Collins.
GTA 6 is set to be no different, with speculation on who could feature already doing the rounds. Whether a fictional Inter Miami make it in or not, Rockstar Games won't have a better opportunity to include one of the best and most followed sportsmen of all time.
Lionel Messi currently finds himself living in Florida after joining Inter Miami earlier in the year. The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner and World Cup champion has been in fine form since his arrival, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists across 14 matches.
As one of the most famous people on the planet with over 495 million Instagram followers, there's no doubt that an appearance from Messi in GTA 6 would make a lot of sense. The question is, will he still be in the States when the game launches?
With that in mind, it may be a decision Rockstar makes at the last minute. Alternatively, they may not want to take that risk at all, which is understandable. Messi could be 38 by the time GTA 6 is released, with retirement and a return to either Argentina or Barcelona all strong possibilities.
