It's been almost 10 years since GTA V debuted in 2013, and it's still going strong.
But while Rockstar Games is still very much raking in the dough and enjoying GTA V's success with GTA Online, fans are waiting for a new installment.
The question on everyone's minds is the same: When is GTA 6 coming out?
We're still not sure, as Rockstar hasn't given us any concrete tips to go on.
But according to a recent leak, it may be here sooner than you might imagine.
Here's what the latest leaks say.
Release Date Rumors
Recently, a leaker took to 4chan and answered a variety of questions about GTA 6 before the content was deleted.
Redditor named u/meetsejpal went to the r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit and catalogued a variety of claims from the leaker.
One in particular was a release date window for the upcoming GTA: October 2023.
That's still two years away, but it would give players something to get excited about, if nothing else.
With systems that sound rather complicated, it seems the team might need this kind of time to get things just right.
Setting Rumors
tgIn addition to the potential release date, the 4chan leaker also apparently revealed GTA 6's setting.
It seems the game might very well take place in Miami and various parts of Florida with a smaller map that's used for various interactions.
The map would be much more dense yet smaller than Red Dead Redemption 2's map.
It's been rumored previously that the game might span multiple decades, which would give this leak some credence.
Having a smaller, more dense map falls in line with what we've heard previously about the game as well.
Feature Rumors
Some of the features lined out in the Reddit post that potentially could come to GTA 6 sound somewhat believable, but there isn't anything concrete about these features.
There may be improved AI design that adds another dimension to NPCs who walk around the map, and they might "beep their horn or drive aggressively because they're late for work."
There may be minigames like surfing, windsurfing, and roller derby.
There is a supposed more "free" mission structure.
The main character could be a white male who's roughly 6' 1" with a "sun-kissed tan" and Italian heritage.
Storms and weather effects are "genuinely insane."
We'll have to see if any of these claims come true when we finally get our hands on the game -- or at the very least, some first looks and footage.
