From the very beginning of Genshin Impact, developer miHoYo outlined all the content they planned to include in the game.
With seven total regions in the game, three of which have already been released, the company announced at GDC 2021 that they plan to finish the world of Teyvat's map over the course of the next four years.
miHoYo's Plans to Finish Genshin Impact's Map
In those seven regions, there are a total of eight different kingdoms:
- RELEASED: Mondstadt (Anemo, Germany)
- RELEASED: Liyue (Geo, China)
- RELEADED: Inazuma (Electro, Japan)
- 2022: Sumeru (Dendro, Middle East/Southeast Asia)
- 2023: Fontaine (Hydro, France)
- 2024: Natlan (Pyro, Aztec/Native American)
- 2025: Snezhnaya (Cryo, Russia)
- ???: Khaenri'ah (Science, Scandinavia)
In just under a year, miHoYo has released the first three regions to Genshin Impact: Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma.
Mondstadt and Liyue were available upon the game's release, while Inazuma was just recently added to Genshin Impact 2.0.
There have also been two new areas added to the game within these regions, with more planned.
Dragonspine was the first addition to the map, adding a large, frozen mountain to Mondstadt.
The second region was completely separate from the main map, The Golden Apple Archipelago, an exclusive to Genshin Impact 1.6, though it may return in the future.
There have also been rumors that The Chasm will be added to Liyue, extending the area to the region's west.
