Yao Yao, the little girl from Liyue, introduced to players in Genshin Impact, is finally debuting in the upcoming version 3.4.
Hoyoverse is introducing two new Dendro Characters in the next patch. Alhaitham and Yao Yao are giving players more options to create new Dendro Teams.

Release Date
The new Dendro character, Yao Yao, will be introduced in one of the banners of Genshin Impact 3.4, which will likely go live on January 18, 2023.
More details about her banner will be revealed during the Genshin Impact 3.4 Livestream in the first week of January.
Yao Yao Farming Guide
This little girl is the first character with Dendro Vision, that is not from Sumeru. Yao Yao is the apprentice of Madame Ping, the mighty lady that gave us the Serenitea Pot.
According to leaks, Yao Yao is a 4-star Dendro Polearm user, the first chibi character that uses this weapon.
Yao Yao Ascension Materials
Luckily, all the materials necessary for Yao Yao are currently available in Genshin Impact 3.3. Therefore we can collect them all before the launch of her banner.
Quelled Creeper
These elemental fragments are an ascension material dropped by the Dendro Hypostasis, a new world boss introduced on Genshin Impact 3.2.
- The last of the seven Elemental Cubes is in Sumeru's Rain Forest.
- Players need 46 Quelled Creeper for Lv. 90 Yao Yao.
- The Dendro Hypostasis drops 2-3 pieces of these materials once it is defeated for the cost of 40 resins.
Jueyun Chili
Chilis from a native plant in Liyue are an ingredient that inspires many dishes in Genshin Impact. Travelers can find this Liyue Specialty in Minlin, Qingce Village, and Stone Gate.
- Players need 168 Jueyun Chilli for Lv. 90 Yao Yao.
- There are around 130 Jueyun Chilli in the wild refreshing every 48hrs.
- Jueyun Chili can grow in the Serenitea Pot or be purchased from Wanmin Restaurant in Liyue Harbor.
Slimes Materials
These common enemies are elemental lifeforms with circular shapes. Slimes react to elements and are immune to the attacks of the same element.
Players can find these enemies in all regions in Teyvat; Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, and Sumeru.
- To reach the lv. 90 with Yao Yao travelers required:
- 18 Slime Condensate
- 30 Slime Secretions
- 36 Slime Concentrate

Yao Yao Talent Materials in Genshin Impact
Travelers will need to collect materials from slimes as well to level up the talents of Yao Yao. The good news is that there are many slimes in all regions of Genshin Impact.
To reach the max level of the three talents, players required the following materials:
- 18 Slime Condensate
- 66 Slime Secretions
- 93 Slime Concentrate
Diligence Series
The Diligence Series are talent books that players can obtain in the Taishan Mansion domain in Jueyun Karst on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday.
- Players need to collect the following to max Yao Yao's Talents:
- 9 Teachings of Diligence
- 63 Guide to Diligence
- 114 Philosophies of Diligence
Trounce Domain: Joururi Workshop
Genshin Impact 3.2 introduced a new weekly boss. Scaramouche, the Fatui Harbinger, has become a God with the help of Dottore.
Travelers will battle them in the new domain: Joururi Workshop.
Once Scaramouche is defeated will drop the talent material, Daka's Bell. Therefore, players will need 18 Bells to max Yao Yao's Talents.
Nagadus Emerald
Sumeru introduced a new crafting Ore called Nagadus Emerald that will be necessary for leveling up Dendro Characters in Genshin Impact.
Players will find pieces of this by defeating:
- Jadeplume Terrorshrooms
- Dendro Hypostasis
- Travelers can obtain Nagadus Emerald in Sumeru's Statue of the Seven, the Tree of Dreams.
- Additionally, Nagadus Emerald will drop randomly obtained in Chests, Daily Commissions, and Events.
