Update Release Time
The team behind Genshin Impact, miHoYo, has confirmed the release time for the upcoming version 1.5 patch in a recent blog post.
The update is due to release at 06:00 UTC+8 on April 28th. This means it will start at 18:00 EST / 23:00 BST.
In a similar fashion to the other major Genshin Impact title updates of this size, downtime is going to be pretty major. miHoYo is estimating that it will take around five hours, meaning that Genshin Impact 1.5 will not be available until 23:00 EST / 04:00 BST (April 28).
If you're just seeing this now, too, you can actually pre-load the update right now! This will save you some time in the morning if you're planning on just giving Genshin a break while it gets updated.
What To Expect
Like previous updates, the Version 1.5 update will bring huge changes to the game.
A variety of new characters have been revealed, including Eula and Yanfei.
We will also see brand new quests become available.
PS5 Version
It has been confirmed that the game will be launching on PlayStation on the same date as the Version 1.5 update, April 28th.
This new version will bring improved graphics, 4K resolution, and near-instant loading times for owners of the next-gen system.
Nintendo Switch
With each update that goes by, Nintendo fans hope it will be the update that brings the game to the Nintendo Switch.
A Switch port was due to be released on day one but it was delayed.
The game has been officially released since September 2020 and there is still no official news as to when the Switch port will be released.
Xbox Port
For some undisclosed reason, it appears that miHoYo has no intention of bringing the game to either the Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S.
While Xbox isn't as well known for non-Western RPGs, as well as not having a strong market share in Asia, there is likely still plenty of players who would really enjoy Genshin Impact if it was to be released on Xbox.
Available Platforms
Genshin Impact is available on PC, iOS, Android, PS4, and PS5 via backwards compatibility.
