It seems that the rumors surrounding the upcoming Genshin Impact 2.7 over the last few weeks have come true. Just hours after finding out by comments on social media that the Special Program of Version 2.7 was not taking place on the usual schedule, the company has confirmed that Genshin Impact 2.7 content will be postponed as well.
Here is everything we know about the delay and the implications of the changing dates in Genshin Impact's schedule for 2022.
Genshin Impact 2.7 Delayed: Latest News & New Schedule
Genshin Impact 2.7 Special Program and Update is indefinitely postponed. According to Hoyoverse, we will receive more information in the next few days.
In the meantime, there are some circulating theories about the near future of Genshin Impact.
Based on information from Uncle Y, a reliable data miner from the Chinese community, the Genshin Impact 2.7 Special Program will take place on Friday May 20, 2022, and version 2.7 will then go live on June 1, 2022.
Interim Banner
The last day of Ayaka's banner is on May 10, 2022. It is possible we are getting a filler banner with 5-star characters from the Standard Banner.
Images of a Jean & Diluc banner are circulating on the web, something similar to the Keqing Banner.
Another rumor indicates we are not getting any new banner, instead we are getting a Log-in event with 10 Intertwined Fates, good for a 4-star character or weapon.

What's Next for Genshin Impact 2.7?
Back in February 2021, Hoyoverse decided to drop the limited Keqing Banner, Dance of Lanterns, to replace Hu Tao's debut banner.
The Keqing Banner ran for about two weeks, so Hu Tao's Banner Moment of Bloom could debut at a more convenient time, coinciding with the New Chinese Year.
Dance of Lanterns was considered an unusual banner since Keqing 5-star is a character that players can obtain in the Standard Banner with the F2P friendly Acquaint Fates.
With the circumstances, the Keqing Banner became known as the filler banner.
With Genshin Impact 2.7 now delayed, version 2.6 may be extended, and that could very well mean a new filler banner to keep players happy in the interim.
We can only hope we will receive a banner with a 5-star character for a rerun like Yoimiya or Klee, and most likely some Free Primogems are on the way as well.
For now this is what we know about the progress of Genshin Impact 2.7 and its delays, but expect to hear more from Hoyoverse over the coming days.
