After a couple of delays, Omega Strikers has finally got its global release, with the 3v3 hockey/hero-shooter hybrid now available on PC (via Steam), the Nintendo Switch, and mobile platforms (Android/iOS).
Though anyone following the game's development will know that plans for a PlayStation 4/5 and Xbox One/X|S release were confirmed earlier in the year, after the studio behind the game, Odyssey Interactive, raised over $19 million dollars to expand the team and bring it to more platforms.
However, on the day of the game's launch (27 April), would-be players learned that the PlayStation and Xbox versions were delayed owing to "technical issues."
So, when will these two console behemoths get access to the game?
When does Omega Strikers come out on PlayStation and Xbox?
Originally set to launch alongside the PC, mobile, and Nintendo Switch versions, the developers have now confirmed that Omega Strikers won't be available on Xbox and PlayStation until a later - unconfirmed - date.
In a series of tweets on the official Odyssey Interactive Twitter, the developers stated the PS and Xbox release would happen in the "coming weeks" after technical issues meant they didn't feel comfortable shipping it in its current state.
"It was a last minute batch of issues that we identified that we didn't feel right shipping with," explained the developers.
"We debated, but ultimately we want to provide the best experience for you all rather than shipping on PS and Xbox just to say we shipped."
The developers have confirmed that cross-progression between all the titles will remain, meaning, if you are going to primarily play on a PlayStation or Xbox, you can start unlocking strikers and winning matches on another platform until those consoles get their scheduled release.
As we learn more information about the delayed PlayStation and Xbox versions, we will update this page with all there is to know.
