Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 4 Weapon Tier List
Fortnite Season 4 is here and with it come so big changes to the weapons in the game. We have two brand new ones along with a slew of returning favourites. Check out our tier list below for what we thing the current hierarchy looks like.
S Tier
- DMR
- Prime Shotgun
- Suppressed SMG
- Hunter Bolt-Action Sniper
The S tier represents the best of the best in Fortnite Season 4 and topping the list has to be the DMR and Prime Shotgun. The DMR is the perfect weapon for the long-range player, combining the reach of a sniper rifle with the rate of fire and damage of an assault rifle. The Prime Shotgun, however, is all about doing major damage while looking someone right in the eye.
The return of the Suppressed SMG is a nice surprise and the Hunter Bolt-Action sniper is a one-hit kill in most situations once again!
A Tier
- Hammer Assault Rifle
- EvoChrome Shotgun
- Lever Action Shotgun
The A Tier represents the weapons that are edging on the S Tier in quality but are held back for one reason or another. This is where we see the EvoChrome shotgun debut. Its ability to upgrade and transform mid-game is elite but it's not quite on par with the Prime so sits in the A tier instead.
The Hammer Assault Rifle is a reliable choice that you'll be happy to have in any given situation and the return of the Level Action Shotgun is welcome although it's fire rate is the only thing keeping it out of the S tier.
B Tier
- Sidearm Pistol
- Ranger Assault Rifle
The B Tier is the weapons that are useful but aren't really anything special. The Ranger Assault Rifle has its uses and a higher-tier one is certainly worth picking up and using but there are better options to go for.
The Sidearm Pistol, meanwhile, is actually a pretty good weapon to use as a last resort, with a great reload time, rate of fire and DPS potential at higher tiers. You'll likely never keep one for long but if the rarity is there, there are worse weapons to have.
C Tier
- Rapid Fire SMG
The C tier represents the weapons that could be good and sound good on paper but just aren't. It's looking lonely for the Rapid Fire SMG which hasn't received enough of a buff to deem it worth as a passable option.
In a pinch, it will get the job done but the recoil is too much for most and its general damage will do very little versus a fully shielded enemy.
D Tier
- Boogie Bomb
Finally...we have the D tier. The dirt worst. We're struggling to find any firearms that are worthy of such low ranking so far this season so instead, we're turning to the Boogie Bomb.
We are long passed the time of the Boogie Bomb and it needs to be vaulted. No, this has nothing to do with people constantly using them on me in matches and then killing me and dancing on my corpse...
