The end of Chapter 3, Season 1 is close now, so it's time for what looks like the final Fortnite Update of the current season, Fortnite Update 19.40. Here's everything we know about Fortnite Update 19.40 including the ongoing server downtime and the download size of the update.
Latest - Update Downtime & Download Size
Epic has confirmed that the downtime has begun in Fortnite, ahead of update 19.40 going live.
You can download the patch now, but the new content won't go live for a little while yet.
The download size of Fortnite update 19.40 is comiing in at about 3GB on all platforms, so you don't need a whole lot of space to download it.
Fortnite Update 19.40 Release Date & Time
Fortnite Update 19.40 will go live on Tuesday, 1 March with server downtime taking matchmaking down from 3:30am EST. Season 1 is set to end on Saturday, 19 March so the timing of the final update is key.
Typically, there is a longer period between the final Fortnite Update in a season and the end of the season itself. This is because the focus has switched to the new season of content, and Epic is already likely working on the first or second update of the next season.
This time around players will have to wait for a little over two weeks before things kick back into high gear.
What to expect
Currently, there are no major rumours flying around with the exception of the Star Wars season of content. Because of this, we'll be keeping an eye on the update to see if any more Star Wars content s re-added to the game.
If so, this further backs up the idea that Season 2 - or a future Chapter 3 season - will be entirely Star Wars themed. We may also see files uploaded that are related to an end of season event that gives us more insight into how we will transition into Chapter 3, Season 2.
