LATEST - Battle Pass Skins & Bikes Confirmed
In the moments following what is being viewed as a very average event, we got the blockbuster confirmation that Doomguy, Geralt of Rivea and Geno will be coming to Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 1.
In addition to this, it seems that Bikes have finally been confirmed following rumours swirling for months that this would be the case.
Official Cinematic Trailer Released
We finally have the official cinematic trailer for the Fracture event set to take place this week. We steadily see the transformation of Paradise into something much more sinister.
At just 19 seconds long, there's not much to analyse but we do get a small glimpse of The Herald as the centre of what appears to be a chrome storm of some kind.
More Leaks!
It has been confirmed that the event files for Fracture have been leaked meaning most of the event details can now be found online.
These leaks go beyond just audio files and even include animations and further story detail. If you're keen to keep these details a surprise, it's best to stay far away from Fortnite Twitter for now as Chapter 4 is very much a hot topic.
Early Chapter 4 Leaks
Following the official reveal of Fracture, the Chapter 3 finale event, some details started to leak for Fortnite Chapter 4. We know that the Unreal Editor will be arriving, also known as Creative 2.0, but it has already been delayed to January 2023.
Beyond this it appears that ridable flying animals, a new cosmetic type, motorcycles and a much requested first-person mode is on the way in Season 1.
Fortnite Chapter 4 release date & time
It is now confirmed that Fortnite Chapter 4 will begin on Sunday, 4 December. This comes following the official reveal of Fracture which is now advertised as a Chapter finale event. What a surreal turn of events following very little hype or rumour that a new Chapter was coming!
When rumours started circulating that Chapter 4 could be next, they didn't carry the same weight as those last year for Chapter 3. It seems strange that we are only getting four seasons for Chapter 3 but it maintains the unpredictability of Fortnite as we kinda love it!
While not official just yet, it has been leaked previously that whatever was coming after the Fracture event, be it Season 5 or Chapter 4, would have a servers live time of around 6 am PT / 9 am ET / 2 pm GMT on 4 December.
Server downtime is something that can be very unpredictable so we expect these times will not be exact and based on the issues getting into Chapter 3, demand will play a role.
Why Now?
It's very hard to tell why now is the right time for Fortnite Chapter 4 but the story has accelerated since the beginning of Chapter 3 and Epic must feel like now is the right time to pull the trigger.
We don't anticipate short Chapters becoming a common occurrence and this is more than likely a way to signify to players that nothing is out of reach for Fortnite.
It's also a huge play for market share as Warzone 2 is due out very soon and could well steal many players away from the game. By launching Chapter 4, which is set to be a must-see event, Fortnite finds a way to get one over a major competitor.
We can't wait to see what Fortnite Chapter 4 brings to the table to make it stand out from the rest and also make it worthy of having cut Chapter 3 very short.
