Of course, we're talking about The Driver - the mysterious figure who captains the Battle Bus at the start of each Fortnite game. You might not be able to see The Driver, but you can offer them a "thank you" at the start of each match. It's not just about manners, either - thanking the Bus Driver can actually pop up as an in-game challenge and be worth some serious XP!
Here's how you thank the Bus Driver in Fortnite, no matter what platform you're on.
How to Thank the Driver in Fortnite
Thanking the Bus Driver is as easy as tapping a button, all you need to know is what button to press. Here's the input for each platform...
- Fortnite on PC - Press "B"
- Fortnite on PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 5 - Press "Down" on the D-pad
- Fortnite on Xbox One & Xbox Series X|S - Press "Down" on the D-pad
- Fortnite on Nintendo Switch - Press "Down" on the D-pad
- Fortnite on Mobile devices - Press "Emote" in the top right corner
It's worth noting that you can only do this while you're in the Battle Bus at the start of the match - not once you've jumped and not before while the lobby is being populated. It's also worth noting that this input is always going to be the "Emote" input, whether you've remapped your controls or not.
When you thank the Bus Driver in Fortnite, you should see your name in the "kill feed" say "[Account Name] has thanked the Bus Driver."
