FIFA 23 rating season is just around the corner, with a number of players set to have their performances scrutinised by EA.
We've already seen downgrades leaked for stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, but this most recent leak is sure to raise eyebrows.
Check below for everything you need to know about a surprise downgrade leaked for one of Chelsea's top stars.
Mountain to Molehill
It's been an impressive rise for Mason Mount, with the Chelsea academy prospect rising through the ranks at Stamford Bridge and establishing himself as a mainstay for Chelsea.
However, a turbulent season on and off the pitch last term for the Blues looks to have a detrimental effect on their squad ratings heading into FIFA 23.
In FIFA 22, Mason Mount was rated at 83 OVR, but that looks set to drop in this year's game.
Mount is slated to receive an 82 OVR in FIFA 23, with the boyhood Pompey fan receive a downgrade on last year.
Considering that Mount was still a vital cog for a side that finished 3rd in the Prem, this downgrade seems harsh.
The drop in rating seems even more peculiar when you consider that Mount notched 13 goals and 16 assists across all competitions last season.
More Downgrades Coming
Mason Mount won't be the only player to receive a harsh downgrade this year, with Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo also set to face the chop.
Ronaldo is set to be downgraded from a 91 OVR to a 90 OVR, with the Portuguese captain right to feel hard done by following a decent season.
