FIFA 23 is just around the corner, which means it's time to start getting your started squads prepped for the new season.
With the FIFA 23 Ultimate Team Web App set to launch a week for the full game, you'll have the chance to earn some decent coinage before you even start playing.
With that in mind, we've come up with a balanced, meta-breaking Ligue 1 starter squad that won't break the bank but will guarantee you some much-needed early wins.
Steve Mandanda - GK
Brand new goalkeeping animations, paired with a new shooting system, will truly test the meta of the goalkeeper in FIFA 23.
Mandanda is always a solid starting choice, with the French veteran possessing strong reflexes and handling, all of which should come in handy against other starter squads.
Nordi Mukiele - RB
A new signing for PSG, Mukiele is a strong option to start off with, before you build towards securing Archaf Hakimi.
The French defender has the perfect mix of pace, power and passing ability, all of which make him a great choice to be your starting full back.
Amadou Diallo - CB
PSG have a very strong squad, and it says a lot when Amadou Diallo is so far down the pecking order.
That will be good news for FUT players, as this strong centre-half won't require you to break the bank as you search for initial signings.
Jean-Clair Todibo - CB
Pacey French defenders will no doubt be a big part of FIFA 23 once again this year, and Todibo is the perfect starting option.
A tall, quick centre-half who will no doubt be boosted on last year's rating, we think him and Diallo could be a great starting pair.
Nuno Mendes - LB
Nuno Mendes will no doubt be upgraded following a strong season for French title winners PSG, and he may well be the most expensive player you sign in this starting squad.
That being said, his mix of crossing capabilities and pace make him a great option for your stater squads.
Danilo Pereira - CM
Another fringe PSG player that will harbour a decent rating but won't break the bank, Danilo Pereira is the perfect midfield anchor to support your defence and enable your attack.
He's always been an underrated gem in FIFA, and we're expecting no different in this year's game.
Houssem Aouar - CM
We're hopeful that Aouar won't depart Lyon before the transfer window shuts, and whilst the French midfielder hasn't built on his breakthrough year, he's still a great option to have.
Threading passes to our two strikers, we think Aouar is the perfect midfielder partner to his strong counterpart Pereira.
Jeremy Doku - RM
Pacey winger will be more important than ever in FIFA 23, with the introduction of new archetypes set to change large parts of the game.
Doku, however, will remain a speed demon, with the Belgian star ready to dominate without bankrupting your club.
Stephy Mavididi - LM
A classy winger with a great mix of skill, pace and passing range, we think Mavididi could be a real meta-breaker in FIFA 23.
The former Arsenal academy prospect is performing well for Montpellier and could once again provide a great option in this year's game.
Kevin Volland - ST
Your goalscoring credentials will be tested massively in FIFA 23, with a new shooting system set to change large part of the game.
With that in mind, getting hold of a cheap, highly-rated striker with great finishing could be key to getting off to a good start, and we believe that Monaco forward Kevin Volland is exactly the man you need.
Jonathan David - ST
Every man and his dog know of the talent that Jonathan David possesses, but the Canadian has not yet earnt his major move away from France.
With the striker once again set to be a meta-breaker in FIFA, we think there's no better partnership to start you in Ligue 1 than Volland and David.
