FIFA 22 is embracing the Halloween spirit once again this year in Ultimate Team, and that seemed to signal the return of Ultimate Scream.
With new signs that Rulebreakers could be the FIFA 22 Halloween promo this year, here's everything you need to know about the FUT 22 event, cards, objectives, and SBCs that are on the way.
Latest - Rulebreakers return possibly confirmed by leaked card art
After plenty of speculation about how FIFA 22 would celebrate Halloween this year, it's now looking like Rulebreakers are making a return.
The following potential Rulebreakers card art for FUT 22 was just leaked:
While we're still waiting on official word from EA that the promo is coming back, this new art certainly looks like Rulebreakers are due for a return.
Release Date
Every year EA puts on an epic promo to celebrate Halloween in FIFA Ultimate Team, and this year should be no different.
With the timings aligning nicely, the promo should kick off on Friday, 29 October, and run for two weeks.
The promo events name is always a bit of a mystery with last year’s event going by the name of Rulebreakers.
Whatever the event is called this time, we are sure to see it following similar trends of improved ratings and changing playing styles.
Ultimate Scream
We have seen a few of these promos now over the years, and more often than not the special cards involved change the strengths and weaknesses of the player involved.
For example, Harry Kane is one of the best forwards in the world, but we are all aware he is not the quickest.
With pace such a sought-after attribute in FIFA, the Rulebreakers event in FIFA 21 transformed Kane into a speedy striker capable of outrunning anyone.
We expect more of the same this season with various players becoming more ‘useable’ (becoming faster).
Predictions
There are always a few favourites that seem to be included year on year in the Halloween promo events.
Brazilian forward Hulk is usually a nailed-on candidate, but his absence from the game this year paves the way for someone new to feature.
Fellow Brazilian David Luiz would also be a popular prediction but he is another samba star that is unavailable in FIFA 22.
Harry Kane is a regular in the event where his pace is transformed, while Radja Nainggolan is also a strong contender for another Halloween card.
This year, we are backing West Ham’s Czech trio to provide one of the Halloween cards with Tomas Soucek, Vladimir Coufal, and Alex Kral all viable options.
Inaki Williams proved a popular pick in last year’s event so we would love to see him return, while a special card with improved pace could be incredible for England centre-back Harry Maguire.
Trick or Treat
We've been wondering what the Halloween event will be called this year, and it may just be that EA has announced it.
A new objective and also purchasable stadium items have appeared, with the objective being named Treat and the items Trick.
With only a few days left before Halloween, the promo event looks like it could be called Trick or Treat, in keeping with the theme.
Although it is no Ultimate Scream, we much prefer this spookier feel to the previous Rulebreakers.
In the store you can find a spider badge, skull tifo and pumpkin-inspired kit, plus if you go for the bundle a new celebration.
By completing objectives you can receive a Halloween stadium theme and spooky badge while completing the group reward to another special kit.
