FIFA 22

Unsurprisingly there has been no word on when FIFA 22 will officially be released, but we can have a pretty accurate guess.

BE CREATIVE: Use directed runs in FIFA 21 to take control of the runs your teammates make

FIFA 22 will likely be released between Friday, 24 September and Friday, 8 October, 2021, judging by the release in previous years.

Take control

It looks like we could see a return to a tactical slider system that we have seen in previous editions of FIFA.

Take control over the way your team attacks with different levels of build-up play and chance creation.

The extra detail in these tactics should allow you to shape the team in your image and get them playing your ideal style.

So far, it does not look like there will be any wholesale changes to the defensive tactics in FIFA 22.

Positional play

We are used to transforming our wingers (RM/RW/LM/LW) into forwards (RF/LF) to boost our team chemistry in Ultimate Team, but this could be about to change.

Apparently, the RF and LF positions will be changed to CF in the formations 3-4-2-1 and 4-3-2-1.

ADAPT - There could be a slightly different meta this season

This means it will be strikers and central midfielders who could be adjusted to fit the formation rather than wide midfielders.

If the right forward (RF) and left forward (LF) positions are to be removed from the game completely, it could mean an end to the likes of Neymar playing as a striker!

CHANGING TIMES - More strikers should be used this season

Will we see any other changes to the chemistry in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team?

We would love a bit more limitation on where players can play out of position, particularly to prevent full-backs from playing centrally!

New statistics

Two very popular statistics are set to make their debuts in FIFA 22. The player Heat Map and Expected Goals (xG) have potentially been leaked.

According to an in-game screenshot posted by @KingLangpard on Twitter, the Heat Map can be seen showing players positioning throughout the game.

There was no visual confirmation of proof of the xG stat as of yet.

Check out the new statistics coming to FIFA 22.
