FIFA 22 Ratings: Barcelona's young guns will be GREAT in Career Mode

The departure of Messi was always going to leave a gaping hole in Barcelona's squad, but they have brought in some top-class talent.

It has been a rocky start to the season for a new look Barca side, but there are signs of promise from some of their young guns.

Check out how free transfer Sergio Aguero and his teammates are rated in FIFA 22.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen (OVR 90)

Marc-Andre ter Stegen was unable to compete at Euro 2020 due to injury, which continued into the early stages of this season.

He is still recognised as one of the best goalkeepers in the world and kept his 90 OVR rating.

Frenkie de Jong (OVR 87)

24-year-old Frenkie De Jong has established himself as one of the best central midfielders in world football.

De Jong was brilliant for Barca last season, whilst he also played well for the Netherlands at Euro 2020.

He sees a boost from his previous 85 OVR.

Sergio Aguero (OVR 87)

Sergio Aguero's transfer to Barcelona was meant to see him link up with Argentina compatriot Messi, but we all know how that went.

With only 12 league appearances and four goals to his name in 2020/21, a drop in rating was likely.

Jordi Alba (OVR 86)

32-year-old Barcelona veteran Jordi Alba kept hold of his 86 OVR.

He managed 5 goals and 15 assists last term, showing he still has what it takes to perform at the highest level.

He captained Spain to the semi-final at Euro 2020, playing brilliantly on the left flank.

Sergio Busquets (OVR 86)

Another 32 year old, Sergio Busquets is entering the latter stages of his career.

The defensive midfielder played a crucial role in Spain's Euro 2020 success, however, partnering up with Pedri and Koke.

He saw a slight rating drop to 86 OVR in FIFA 22.

Memphis Depay (OVR 85)

Barca will boast a new-look frontline this season, but with so many talented players in their ranks don't expect them to be pushovers.

Dutch forward Memphis Depay has another opportunity at one of Europe's biggest clubs and will certainly have a point to prove.

Pique (OVR 84)

Pique's age is catching up with him, with injury putting him out of action for a large part of last season.

Due to that, the 34-year-old sees a downgrade from his previous 86 OVR.

Ousmane Dembele (OVR 83)

Ousmane Dembele is still trying to justify his enormous transfer fee, with injuries constantly hitting him during his spell at Barcelona.

He is talented, no doubt, and does provide goals and assists, but Barca would have been expecting more.

Coutinho (OVR 82)

Another man Barca spent big on and have been trying to recoup some money from ever since.

Coutinho was out of action most of last season but did manage five goal involvements in the 14 games he did play.

Neto (OVR 82)

A sign of where Barca are at the moment, their second keeper rounds off their top ten players.

That's not to say Neto isn't talented, he is, but you expect bigger talents ahead of him.

Clement Lenglet (OVR 82)

Barcelona's early-season wobble last year cost Clement Lenglet, as his rating dipped down from 85 OVR to 83 OVR in FIFA 21.

The French centre-back saw that drop further, to an 82 OVR in FIFA 22.

Pedri (OVR 81)

A sign that not all hope is lost for Barca is the promising talent of Pedri.

At the start of the 2020/21 season, you probably wouldn't have heard of Pedri, but he's now a regular starter for Barcelona and Spain aged just 18.

The youngster had just one season of professional football under his belt, for Las Palmas in the Segunda Division, before making the £6.5 million move to Barca.

Ansu Fati (OVR 76)

Another promising youngster, Ansu Fati burst onto the scene with eight goals in his first season in Barcelona colours.

However, he has also suffered from injuries, making only 10 appearances last season.

In those games he did manage five goals and four assists, so we are hoping for more game time this season.
