DOTA 2 Patch 7.31d COUNTDOWN: Release Time, Patch Notes, DOTA Plus, & New Treasures

The road to the DOTA 2 2022 International is entering its final stages. While competitive players battle for a spot in the tournament in the DPC Tour 3, casual players are in for a new DOTA Plus season along with DOTA 2 patch 7.31d.

Included in DOTA 2 7.31d, Valve will bring the usual seasonal refresh, new DOTA Plus content, and some important balance changes.

Here is everything we know about DOTA 2 Patch 7.31d so far as we count down to its release time.

DOTA 2 Patch 7.31d Release Date & Time

DOTA 2 7.31d will go live on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, and based on previous updates, players can expect the patch to arrive at 12pm PST.

This breaks down to the following release times:

  • June 8, 3pm EST
  • June 8, 8pm GMT

What to expect from DOTA 2 Patch 7.31d

Valve announced DOTA 2 7.31d was originally delayed because the next patch is including new features and some big changes.

DOTA 2 Patch 7.31d will be the last update before the Third and Last Major, which will be celebrated in August in Arlington, Texas.

It is very possible the patch arriving later this week will be the same changes that players will use to compete in the International 2022, with some minor adjustments after the Arlington Major.

DOTA 2 Plus June 2022

DOTA Plus is a monthly subscription, that includes tools for players, like selective matchmaking, new maps, statistical analysis, and exclusive cosmetics.

For the DOTA 2 7.31d patch, DOTA plus will include the DPC summer tour Fantasy League, new Treasures, new Guild Rewards, and a couple of innovations that Valve is reserving. The Battle Medals system may be one of them.

DOTA 2 7.31d Patch Notes

Valve has yet to reveal the official DOTA 2 7.31d patch notes, but these might be some adjustments coming in this update.

  • Changes to Null Talisman interactions with heroes like Storm Spirit.
  • Chaos Knight and Pugna nerfs, as this duo was very contested during the Stockholm Major and overperformed overall.
  • Several buffs across most of the unused heroes on the DOTA 2 roster
    • According to the Stockholm Major Stats, at least 27 heroes were unpicked, and another 30 were only used 3 times or less. This is more than the half of DOTA 2 roster.
    • The following heroes were ignored entirely, being neither picked nor banned during the event, most likely to be adjusted.
      • Arc Warden
      • Axe
      • Meepo
      • Slark
      • Warlock
      • Dawnbreaker
      • Outworld Slayer
      • Dazzle
      • Bounty Hunter
      • Lion
  • The inclusion of Primal Beast and Marci in the Captain's Mode.
    • Despite being released months ago, these two heroes are still waiting for their chance to be part of competitive DOTA.

As Valve reveals all the changes in the patch, we'll update with all the latest news.
