Cyberpunk 1.2 Update pushed back following IT Hack

It's been a few days now, but when are we getting more information about the Cyberpunk 1.2 Update?

CD Projekt RED has confirmed what we all feared. The Cyberpunk 2077 1.2 Update is being pushed back until at least the middle of March.

This comes shortly after the developers were subject to a Cyber Attack that threatened to damage the internal infrastructure of the company and leak a substantial amount of vital information.

Now, we have news that the 1.2 Update for Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be pushed back. Here's everything you need to know.

LATEST - New Information Expected Soon

It's only been a few days since the update regarding the delay, but with the newly-proposed release date not so far away we're wondering when we'll get an update?

It could be a "day before" announcement, however, with CDPR clinging to their reputation we can imagine a confident display of progress will come sooner rather than later.

This means, anytime from early next week we could see another announcement from CDPR regarding the Cyberpunk 1.2 Update and its release.

1.2 Update Delayed

This information was shared in a series of tweets from the official Cyberpunk social media account.

Below, you can see the initial reasoning for the delay:

From what we can tell so far, it seems that the combination of the Cyber Attack on CDPR's internal systems and IT infrastructure is the primary reason for the delay.

However, it could be possible that the Cyberpunk 1.2 Update was going to be pushed back regardless as CDPR continue to claw back its reputation following a disastrous release.

Release Date

For now, all we know is that the 1.2 Update is due to drop for Cyberpunk 2077 sometime in the second half of March.

Our goal for Patch 1.2 goes beyond any of our previous updates. We’ve been working on numerous overall quality improvements and fixes, and we still have work to do to make sure that’s what you get. With that in mind, we’re now aiming for release in the second half of March.

Although it is clear that CDPR doesn't want to keep delaying their Cyberpunk 2077 fixes, it's also become clear that this is the right decision going forward to ensure that the game is as good as it can be.

Cyberpunk Update Road Map

Shortly after the release of Cyberpunk, and the disaster that ensued, CDPR offered fans a look at an updated roadmap with two major updates scheduled for both January 2021 and February 2021.
