Will Modern Warfare 2 Campaign be co-op?
Unfortunately, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will not feature a co-op campaign. However, while your friends won't be able to join you in the field, having Captain Price barking orders will surely be more than enough to satisfy fans.
Players will be able to get their co-op fix from the game's Special Ops mode. Activision has teased that the game will feature an 'evolved' Special Ops mode, thanks to new advanced AI, according to leaker @CharlieINTEL.
The original special ops mode was introduced back in 2009 in the original Modern Warfare 2, so now seems like a perfect time for a revival of the wave-based mode.
Campaign Leaks
After multiple gameplay leaks from the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign, we've been let in on a number of features and mechanics that will be playable on release.
The leaks originated from Twitter account @3rbbcod, and while the account has now been suspended, we can assume the source is a reliable one.
Clips show vehicle jacking, jumping from vehicle to vehicle, and vehicle destruction, so the remastered campaign could be one of the most immersive yet. The clip remains at the top of the Modern Warfare 2 subreddit.
Modern Warfare 2 will be playable in the open beta sooner than you might think. It will first release for PS4 and PS5 users on the 16th of September, and for Xbox and PC players a week later on the 22nd of September.
