A new Call of Duty Black Ops patch has arrived, and it fixes a critical Weapon XP bug in Zombies and Multiplayer.
Let's dive into the patch notes of today's update that's now live in-game!
Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Weapon XP
A new bug has surfaced in the past few days revealing a big flaw with Weapon XP in the newest Call of Duty game. This flaw limits Weapon XP earned in solo matches, as well as in later rounds of Zombies.
Because of this, players have been forced to quit and restart Zombies to play through the early rounds over and over again to optimize Weapon XP.

Thanks to the new Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War patch, which went live on 30 November, this issue has been resolved.
Patch Notes
The 30 November patch for COD Black Ops Cold War feels more like a bug hotfix than full length update. This means we can likely still expect another more significant update in the next few days.

Despite the light amount of changes, this is still a massively important update.
Weapon XP is a big part of the progression grind in Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. Coming off of a double XP double Weapon XP week-long event, players are working harder than ever to grind it up.
Thanks to today's update, the biggest Weapon XP bug has been resolved with the following changes:
- Increased Weapon XP earn rates for both Multiplayer and Zombies.
- Addressed an issue that was causing lower-than-targeted Weapon XP in solo matches and in later rounds of Zombies.
- Addressed an issue where the Napalm Burst Ammo Mod wasn't awarding Weapon XP.
While these are the most significant changes, another bug has been patched up in the latest update by Treyarch.
- An out-of-bounds gap that allowed players to stay alive outside of the playable space in Nuketown '84 has been closed.
