Yakuza is a fighting game series that has been around for 15 years now. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio will be publishing Yakuza: Like a Dragon, which is an Xbox Series X launch title.
In a recent interview, Chief Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama detailed how Like a Dragon has managed to achieve almost no loading time at all on Xbox Series X.
The long wait
For a long time now, one of the most heavily-rumoured and often-talked about potential features of next-gen is the elimination of loading times.
Spider-Man Miles Morales has recently proved that the PS5 has no loading times at all. Now it's the turn of the Xbox Series X and as Yokoyama explains, Like a Dragon makes the most of the console's unique abilities:
"[The Xbox Series X is] a platform that’s as powerful as a high-spec gaming PC."

"I was personally most excited about the reduction in loading times due to the SSD (Solid-state drive), it’s nearly instantaneous; there’s not even time to read the loading screen tips!"
While not eliminating loading times entirely, this is a welcome piece of news for Xbox gamers.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon has been out in Japan since January though, so it's not a brand new game. Perhaps with a brand new next-gen game, the Series X can eliminate loading times all together.
What about PS5?
Whenever there's news regarding the Series X, comparisons have to be made to the PS5.
Sadly, there won't be a direct comparison between the Series X and PS5 versions of this game until next year. Like a Dragon is going to be released on PS5, but not until March 2021.

We'll have to wait and see how accurate Yokoyama's claims are when the game and the Series X release next month. It's definitely encouraging though!
Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be released Worldwide on Series X, Xbox One, PS4 and Windows PC on 10th November. Like a Dragon will later be released on PS5 in March 2021.
