Microsoft's brilliant Xbox Games Showcase 2023 could be the best gaming showcase event of the past decade.
In the event, which took place at Summer Game Fest, plenty of new games, trailers, and even a brand-new console were announced. Players finally got to see the gameplay of some highly anticipated games such as Forza Motorsport or Starfield.
Many new DLCs were also announced, with the event also mentioning some of the next games to make it to the Xbox Game Pass. It's a show that put pressure on Sony to deliver a great showcase event.

Starfield and Forza Motorsport headline the event
As mentioned above, plenty of exciting new games were announced. Some received their first trailer, while others showed off their gameplay for the first time.
Starfield and Forza Motorsport were the two big names of the event. The Bethesda space RPG was the most anticipated game of all, and it delivered. Fans were thrilled after being able to see 15 minutes of gameplay, and also discover some of the features the game will have.
The majority of players were amazed by the game. Hardcore Xbox fans were relieved since this showcase dissipated many of the worries they had about the game. The biggest one being the game would also be a disappointing title such as Redfall.
However, many other big games were announced. The Fable reboot got its first trailer, with the game being available in the Game Pass on day one.
Payday 3 also received a new trailer, showed some of its gameplay, and announced its release date. The game will launch on September 21, and just like Fable, it's coming to Game Pass.
Hellblade 2 and Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth were also revealed, leaving fans of both franchises really excited. Both games will come out in early 2024.
The highly anticipated new Star Wars game was also announced. It's called Star Wars Outlaws and is set to be an open-world game. The game received its first trailer and is coming to Xbox Series X|S in 2024.
Towerborne, Path of the Goddess, Persona 5, Clockwork Revolution, Avowed, and South of Midnight, were some of the other showcased games.
Plenty of DLCs and a new console
Xbox Games Showcase 2023 also announced many new DLCs and an incredible new console.
Cyberpunk 2077, The Elder Scrolls Online, Fallout 76, and Sea of Thieves, among many others, all revealed new expansions. These DLCs will introduce fresh content to the game, and give its players something to look forward to.
However, the biggest announcement of the Xbox Games Showcase 2023, wasn't a new game or DLC but a new console. Microsoft announced the Xbox Series S -1TB, which is releasing on September 1.
The console is a considerable upgrade to the standard Xbox Series S. It will cost $349 which is just $50 more than the standard edition. At the same time, it has more 500GB than the original Xbox Series S.
Best Xbox Games Showcase of all time
The 2023 Xbox Games Showcase was arguably the best Xbox showcase of all time. It was without a doubt the best one of the past couple of years, presenting fans with amazing games, DLCs, and even a new console.
It had one of the best game lineups of all time, with games such as Starfield, Forza Motorsport, Payday 3, Hellblade 2, and many others.
With such a great event, Xbox put pressure on Sony to deliver an equally great one. The PlayStation Showcases have been lacklustre in the past years, and Sony will have to step up big time.
