WWE 2K22 is due out later this year, and the excitement is slowly starting to ramp up as development gets rolling and fans finally hear how the next title might look.
2K and WWE Games have committed to showing behind the scenes development videos moving forward, and the first for WWE 2K22 featured "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair.
Ric Flair in first WWE 2K22 development video
WWE 2K22 will be providing a series of behind the scenes looks at how the game's development is going, and the first has finally arrived.
As seen above, one small glimpse from this first look showed "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair surrounded by cameras in order to be scanned for WWE 2K22.
A second shot appeared to show Flair holding a blanket to cover everything but his face, so this is likely the rig that Visual Concepts uses to capture face scans for the title.
While not revealed in this first look, it's likely this face scan work was done backstage at the 2021 Royal Rumble event, which PW Insider reported had 2K Games representatives present.
As new behind the scenes videos are shown, we might start to get an idea of who will be chosen as the cover star of WWE 2K22 based on who appears in these looks.
Motion capture and more behind the scenes footage coming
The brief video, which can be seen below, also featured a little look at motion capture work being done to create the moves in-game.
We heard from WWE 2K22 Creative Director Lynell Jinks in this first look, and he reassured fans that there will be more to come.
It's not clear exactly what frequency WWE Games will be releasing this behind the scenes content, but we've got our first look now and there should be more to come.
