WoW Classic WotLK: Top 10 Hardest Achievements to Complete

The Wrath of the Lich King expansion will be introducing tons of new features to World of Warcraft Classic. Among these are the highly-coveted Achievements that allow a player to show off when they complete anything from a mundane task to a difficult feat.

Achievements range anywhere from something simple as completing a set of quests to an endgame goal of defeating one of the expansion's most difficult bosses.

They are something else players can work towards apart from the normal WoW day-to-day and as expected, some of these are more difficult than others.

That's why we've compiled a list of the top 10 hardest achievements to complete in WotLK Classic.

UPDATED - Faction Changing Confirmed for WotLK Classic

After much deliberation from Blizzard's side, both Faction changes and Race changes will be available for WoW Classic WotLK.

This comes after the devs initially planned to not offer Faction changing as their eyes "it removed some of that fantasy feeling of having dramatically different physical attributes that affect" player gameplay.

It's worth noting that Faction changing, and Race changing as well, will not be available as soon as the expansion releases in September.

Top 10 Hardest Achievements to Complete in WotLK Classic

10. World Explorer

Kicking off our list is an achievement that is fairly straightforward, just go around the world and discover all of its zones. Easy, right?

However, in reality, this is one of the more painstaking achievements as, yes you most likely already have discovered some of these zones due to just playing the game. Keep in mind, though, that the world is way bigger than it seems. Add the fact that you won't have flying in all of Azeroth's zones besides Northrend, and achievements like this can take their sweet time, making it one of the harder ones to complete in the game.

9. Well Read

Similar to World Explorer, the Well Read achievement is also longwinded. Sure you don't have to discover every single nook and cranny you may have missed in a zone but instead, you have to read different books across the world, 42 to be exact.

Although you don't have to sit there and read every single page of a book, the fact that you have to find these books, which oftentimes are a little tricky to find, can make this a difficult achievement.

8. 100000 Honorable Kills

For those who don't want to travel the world and instead want to battle others in it, this 100000 Honorable Kills achievement is the one for them.

PvP tends to be some of the most challenging aspects of WoW as you're not just fighting a scripted encounter or mob that oftentimes can be assisted by addons, instead, you're fighting an enemy that not only reacts to what you're doing but adapts to it as well. This can lead to some frustrating times ahead.

HONORABLE MENTION: There will be lots of PvP to complete the 100000 Honorable Kills achievement

In the case of this achievement, the requirement may not seem all that difficult as getting an honorable kill can come fairly quickly and easily. Players can typically get credit by just doing the most minimal amounts of damage, they'll just have to do it 100,000 times.

7. Frostbitten

Finding a rare creature to kill in Northrend can already be a tough task as not only are these rare mobs sometimes hard to track down, but a good chunk of them put up a good fight.

For this Frostbitten achievement, you'll have to find and slay 23 of them. It's a lot of targets to track down in total.

6. What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been

The What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been achievement is the most tricky achievement on this list. It doesn't have the same type of kill requirement as Insane in the Membrane or 100000 Honorable, nor does it have you travel across the world ala World Explorer, Well Read, or The Loremaster. Instead, it has you complete several other achievements across different holidays.

HOLIDAY REQUIREMENTS: The holiday events are required for this achievement

As you know, holiday events only appear in specific months, events like Noblegarden, Hallow's End, and more are only available at select moments in time; it's a true patience tester. Thankfully, most of the achievements' requirements are fairly easy: kill a mob, find an NPC, collect an item. But the fact that they are only doable during holiday events truly narrows the margin of error.

5. Glory of the Icecrown Raider

Normally, raid achievements aren't too tall of a task, just suit up with 24 other guild members, go to the designated raid and take down the enemy in front of you. But when it comes to Glory of the Icecrown Raider, it's much more than that.

REWARDING: Completing Glory of the Icecrown Raider gives players an Icebound Frostbrood Vanquisher

Not only does Glory of the Icecrown Raider entrust you with killing several bosses, but it also asks you to do it in a specific way, 13 different times to be exact.

It's long, can take multiple weeks to complete, and if your teammates aren't on their A-game, can be a major headache.

4. Mountain o’ Mounts

Mountain o' Mounts is the one achievement on this list that could possibly take into account all of the achievements in this game, the ones that give mounts that is.

Like others on the list, this achievement is fairly straightforward, collect 100 mounts, that's it. But as you know, that within itself can be difficult. There are several ways to get mounts, you have the normal getting max reputation with a faction, killing a specific boss, and more.

This means that in order to complete it you'll have to earn Exalted with a number of factions, take down several rare enemies, prove yourself in PvP, and to top it all off, have the resources to buy them all.

3. The Loremaster

Akin to the World Explorer achievement, the Loremaster achievement has players traverse across the whole world, just in a more active way.

LOTS OF LORE: Plenty of quests completed mean tons of lore to learn

Instead of going through the different zones and discovering them, instead, one has to complete quests, a lot of them. Thankfully, just by playing the game you're bound to have at least some of them finished, however, this one might take the longest out of the mall.

2. Gladiator

Similar to the 100000 Honorable Kills achievement, this one has you stand toe-to-toe against other players in PvP. However, it's not just as simple as taking down an enemy, as not only does it include that but also tasks players on reaching Gladiator in an arena season, the highest ranking possible.

With many players biding their time and trying their best to reach Gladiator the claimable spots soon run out, making it one of the more difficult achievements in the game.

1. Insane in the Membrane

Insane in the Membrane is infamously one of the most difficult achievements in WoW's history.

The achievement requires you to earn Exalted with eight different minor factions all of which require you to do kill farming, lots and lots of kill farming. Among these factions that require you to have a max reputation with sit both Boot Bay and Bloodsail Buccaneers who are enemies. This means that you'll have to earn Exalted with one and then earn Exalted with the other... starting from Hated.
