WoW Classic Season of Mastery brings players back to Vanilla WoW with some massive changes to shake things up!
Here's everything you need to know about WoW Classic Season of Mastery and its server maintenance schedule moving forward now that it's finally live.
LATEST - Season of Mastery is LIVE!
Season of Mastery is now live in WoW Classic, and had perhaps the smoothest launch in the history of World of Warcraft!
Players flooded into all starting zones when servers finally opened up, yet very few technical problems, errors, or server downtime came with it. This is rare with the scale of World of Warcraft - and gives us confidence Blizzard will handle servers well in the future.
For now, players can expect server resets and downtime in Season of Mastery every Tuesday morning around roughly 10am EST along with the weekly resets of all WoW games.
With Blizzard opening the door to Classic+ changes with Season of Mastery, we may see regular updates with further changes in their patch notes.
Season of Mastery Start Time
WoW Classic Season of Mastery will release on Tuesday, November 16th, once servers return from their regular weekly maintenance.
World of Warcraft content launches are known to have some delays involved, but Blizzard have given us notice that we can expect Season of Mastery to arrive at roughly 6pm EST!
With that, WoW Classic Season of Mastery server maintenance will run from 11am EST to 6pm EST, but this could be extended even further depending on technical issues.
Reserve Your Season of Mastery Character Name Now
WoW Classic Season of Mastery may not be playable yet, but you can create your character now!
To reserve your Season of Mastery character name ahead of time, you can log into your WoW Classic account from the Battle.net client. There, you'll find a new tab when selecting Servers. This tab will be labeled Seasonal, and from there, you'll have access to the WoW Classic Season of Mastery servers.
Name reservation is currently limited to one character per account, meaning you'll only be able to lock in your name of choice on one character on one server.
Season of Mastery Changes Explained
Season of Mastery brings players back to WoW Classic, but the game will have plenty of changes this time around.
This includes the following:
- New Phase schedule lasting just one year for all phases
- Removal of World Buffs from raid environments
- Increased Boss difficulty in raids, including the return of old mechanics as well as the addition of new ones
- Reworking of phase content (PVP in Phase 1, Tier 0.5 in Phase 1 etc.)
- Addition of Summoning Stones to PVE content
- 40% increased Quest experience
With these changes, we'll likely see a shakeup in the best classes in WoW Classic, though many players are hoping for more changes and adjustments as the Season of Mastery progresses.
