Worlds 2022 Play-In Stage Day 2 Results
Group A
In Group A, the results were as follows:
- Fnatic 1-0 DetonatioN FocusMe
- Evil Geniuses 1-0 LOUD
- DetonatioN FocusMe 1-0 Chiefs Esports Club
- Evil Geniuses 1-0 Beyond Gaming
DFM came close to taking the game off Fnatic after a solid early game, but Fnatic's teamfight and some mistakes in the mid-game crushed their hopes. DFM does seem to be warming up though, with Evi and Yutapon particularly performing well.
EG bounced back from a disappointing day 1 with two big wins. Their first game was shaky against LOUD, but as the day progressed they tidied up many of their mistakes, and look like a solid contender for groups once again.
Group B
The results from day 2 in Group B were as follows:
- Saigon Buffalo 1-0 Isurus
- DRX 1-0 Saigon Buffalo
- MAD Lions 0-1 Royal Never Give Up
- İstanbul Wildcats 0-1 DRX
DRX remain undefeated after day 2 of Worlds 2022. SGB and IW were both dispatched in under 30 minutes, although the Wildcats did put up a fight. Zeka was a standout today, finishing game 2 12/0/8 on his Akali.
Mad Lions unfortunately fell to RNG, who look to finally be finding their feet. Gala, Wei, and Breathe all showed incredible carry performances, the former ending unkilled and the latter two securing 8 kills apiece.
Worlds 2022 Play-In Standings
Fnatic remain at the top of Group A, but EG are now nipping at their heels. An all-important win for DFM lands them in the top 4 but they have more work to do to get to groups.
In Group B, DRX remain undefeated at the top, with SGB and MAD nipping at their heels. RNG are on the rise though, and cannot be ignored as knockouts approach.
Day 3 of Play-Ins will kick off at the same time, 3 pm CT, or 9 pm BST.
