No one likes a cheater, do they? Well, Call of Duty knows this too well and if you're a regular in Caldera, you'll be pleased to know that you should be seeing a lot less from cheaters going forwards. That's handy, given Krampus is about to start his holiday hunt when the Festive Fervor Event starts tomorrow.
Here's an update from Call of Duty on the implementation of the Ricochet Anti-Cheat System in Warzone.
Warzone's Anti-Cheat is now available globally
" The RICOCHET Anti-Cheat™ PC kernel-level driver has now been deployed for all users, worldwide. The PC driver will automatically install alongside an update to Call of Duty®: Warzone™ Pacific on Battle.net. The driver is required to play Warzone on PC."
Yes, you read that right. The Anti-Cheat we've all been waiting for - the one that was promised months ago - is now finally in place on all servers worldwide. It's a huge win for Call of Duty and its players... Provided it works.
The Ricochet Anti-Cheat system is just one element of Call of Duty's attempts to crack down on hackers and cheaters - expect there to be more updates to server-side security and account authentification updates in the future.
" The launch of RICOCHET Anti-Cheat represents the beginning of this new security effort. Our team is focused on continuous monitoring and fast iteration of anti-cheat security systems across Vanguard and Warzone. Combating unfair play will be a continuous effort, but a battle we are dedicated to fighting."
We don't know how many of these changes will be visible to players - the Ricochet Anti-Cheat system will be enabled via a title update for Warzone on PC but it's not going to be a toggleable option or something you'll really notice in-game. For now, we just have to go on Call of Duty's word that they're working on things... Keep an eye on Call of Duty on social media for future updates.
