Vanguard has only been out for a fortnight and we're already looking at a free access weekend for Multiplayer - this could be in response to the huge loss in sales in the UK (and other markets) reported last week, but it's unsure. Either way, you can jump into Vanguard for free right now and there's a lot on offer. Here's the latest.
LATEST - It's time to jump in for free!
The rumours were true! Call of Duty Vanguard is hosting a free access weekend for the Multiplayer portion of the game. In the tweet below, Call of Duty has highlighted a handful of the maps available - however, we're under the impression that you can play on all the maps currently available.
Call of Duty Vanguard isn't a small game, though - here's how much storage space you'll need:
- PlayStation 4 - 55GB (Needs 93GB)
- PlayStation 5 - 64GB (Needs 90GB)
- Xbox One - 57GB (Needs 57GB)
- Xbox Series X|S - 61GB (Needs 61GB)
- PC - 61GB (Needs 90GB)
Vanguard's on-demand texture streaming requires more storage space while in use to be active, but does mean the overall download size is smaller.
FREE WEEKEND - Multiplayer only, though
According to WarzoneIntel, Vanguard's Multiplayer Free Access weekend is due to start on November 18th and should run until November 22nd. This is right when Shipment is being added, so expect a chaotic mix of veteran players and newbies on the busiest games of Shipment we've ever seen.
As far as we are aware, this Multiplayer Free Access weekend will offer the complete Vanguard Multiplayer experience. This means there's not going to be a limited number of playlists available or a limit on the weapons that can be used. We should also see progression carry over - so even if you don't purchase Vanguard, you can level your Vanguard weapons for Warzone.
It's important to note that this information doesn't seem to be currently available from a legitimate source - so it's worth taking this with a pinch of salt. We don't usually see these things advertised too far in advance, anyway, though. So... If an announcement drops later today - on November 17th - for the Multiplayer Free Access weekend starting on November 18th, it wouldn't be completely out of the ordinary.
Sledgehammer Games has just added Bloodshed Blitz, Champion Hill Solos, and North Africa playlists to Vanguard's Multiplayer. Expect a few changes throughout the Multiplayer Free Access weekend, too.
Vanguard offers up over twenty multiplayer maps, over thirty weapons, and a new set of Operators for you to tackle. World at War's Dome and Castle are both also there - if you were looking for a reason to play.
