Valorant Patch 8.09 is here, and unlike the major agent balance adjustments that kicked off Episode 8 Act 3, this patch introduces smaller changes, focusing on bug fixes and minor adjustments.
Riot Games sent shockwaves with Episode 8 Act 3's agent nerfs, shaking up the long-reigning Viper and Cypher meta. Now, let's dive into what we know about Patch 8.09, the second update for the final act of Episode 8!
Valorant Patch 8.09 Release Date
Valorant Patch 8.09 goes live on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. It introduces some bug fixes and a small buff to Brimstone.
This is a very small patch and just lays the groundwork for a huge patch in the near future.
Disappearing Crosshair Profiles Fix in Patch 8.09
As mentioned above, Valorant Patch 8.09 fixes many bugs, with one of them being the missing crosshair profiles issue. Unfortunately, previously deleted crosshairs won't be restored.
There is a small chance you continue to get this bug, with your new crosshair profiles continuing to disappear. If that happens make sure to contact Riot Games support.
Valorant 8.09 Balance Changes
Valorant Patch 8.09 only introduced one balance change, and that was increasing the radius of Brimstone smoke from 410 to 415. The smoke targeting size in the UI was also updated, but that is more a quality-of-life improvement than a balance change
The goal of this balance change is to make Brimstone's smoke match the size of his peer's smokes, such as Omen, Astra, and Clove. It's a buff for Brimstone but it doesn't make him incredibly strong, and doesn't change his position in the current meta.
It’s worth noting that, while Patch 8.09 is light on gameplay changes, official sources have confirmed Patch 8.11 will focus heavily on agent balancing and map rotations, with Duelists slated for the biggest changes and Viper receiving another tweak.
