With the COVID-19 outbreak putting a stop to all physical events, EA's game expo, EA Play, will be going digital this year.
Many were looking forward to seeing their favorite games and potential sequels in the showcase, however, Sim's fans may have to wait a little while longer.
Here's everything we know about the upcoming event.
No EA Play Reveal for The Sims 5
Unfortunately for fans, there will be no reveal for The Sims 5 at the upcoming EA Play.
This was confirmed by on Twitter from the official Sims page.

That being said, there is still a ton of things to do in The Sims 4 which will keep you occupied until more is revealed about the next game in the series.

Sims 5 on Steam
Despite warnings that Sims 5 would not be receiving coverage at EA Play, there are several segments and reveals scheduled for the show.
The first reveal was the official announcement that Sims 5 will be available on Steam on release.
EA Play Confirmed
EA Play will be streamed on Thursday, 18 June 2020.
It is likely that the event will stream on both the ea.com/eaplay site and EA’s social channels.

The virtual event will likely focus on the big EA releases arriving in 2020.
Think FIFA 21, Madden 21, NBA Live 21, and more.
What about The Sims 5?
As mentioned, even though The Sims 5 looked pegged for a 2021 release, the game won't feature in EA Play.
IN THE PIPELINE: The Sims 5 is expected to release in early 2021
However, with the game supposedly arriving early next year, it shouldn't be too long until we get to see something!
What about Sims 4 at EA Play?
While EA Play is usually the place for upcoming titles, EA does like to revisit some of their popular games.
We might hear about new expansion packs, features, and fixes so Sims fans should keep one ear out!
Online Features
Thankfully, the feature fans have been waiting for all these years looks like it could finally arrive on The Sims 5.
MULTIPLAYER MADNESS: New online features could really enhance gameplay.
In an interview with Forbes, EA’s Andrew Wilson revealed that the “notion of social interactions and competition like the kind of things that were actually present in The Sims Online many many years ago […] will start to become a part of The Sims experience in the years to come”.
This means it is looking very likely that online multiplayer will arrive in The Sims 5.
