The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild's NPCs Can Be Coded To Look Like You - Here's How

Almost four years after the game was released, it looks like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's NPCs can be altered and changed to look like anyone, including celebrities, characters, and even individual regular people.

This is all thanks to the fact that they are based on one of Nintendo's previous creations, developed originally for the Wii.

How The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild's NPCs Can Be Coded And Changed

@HEYimHeroic on Twitter (Alice) (via Eurogamer), who classifies themselves as an expert on Nintendo's Miis, has discovered that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild actually uses Miis as a template for the game's NPCs.

These versions of the Miis are more advanced but it is possible to mod the game and input your own Mii, famous characters, and more into the open-world RPG.

Miis can look like famous characters, yourself, or the fighters from Smash Bros. Ultimate.

This was discovered as they were modding the game and a small example was posted on Twitter, with Alice, showing what Barret's Mii from Smash Ultimate looks like as an NPC in Breath of the Wild, along with what the Gunner character from the game looks like.

Alice also mods her own Mii into the game, although some of the details are off as she rushed the creation.

These advanced Miis or UMiis are mostly exclusive to the Human and Hylian races, so you can't turn yourself into anything and some hairstyles aren't supported in order to allow the characters to fit the style and world of Breath of the Wild.

They are also virtually identical to the Wii U and 3DS Miis, with some smaller features not being supported like moles.

This modding method is also exclusive to the NPC characters and can't be used on any of the main cast, as their models were created individually.

With new secrets being discovered in Breath of the WIld, it suggests that its sequel, which is currently in development, will also hold a number of secrets for players to find when it releases, as well as when the community are able to mod the game.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 may end up using the same advanced Miis.
