RuneScape Kingdoms Board Game Announced

Runescape has been a rather popular game for some time. They've managed to retain this popularity through interesting content, different modes and an incredibly vocal community. That community has led all the way to a Runescape board game. Here's what we know so far.

Runescape Board Game

In a piece of news that completely makes sense, we are due to see a RuneScape board game come to KickStarter later this year. Jagex are partnering with Steamforged Games, who have previously worked on board game adaptations of Monster Hunter: World, Resident Evil and Horizon Zero Dawn. Needless to say, they're a board game designer with a bit of a pedigree behind them.

You can explore Asgarnia and Misthalin with a board modelled after a fast travel map - allowing players to really explore the world. Modelled on an RPG, you can max our your skills, customise your weapon choice and take on side quests to get a slightly better load out. It's designed to be played with your friends to make sure to grab a few and really indulge in the world of RuneScape.

Mat Hart, the Creative Director and CCO of Steamforged states:

It’s incredibly important to us for the board game to appeal to RuneScape fans of all kinds. For that reason, the board game is heavily inspired by content and references from both RuneScape and Old School RuneScape, that’ll be familiar to all players past and present.

When Does RuneScape Kingdoms: Shadow of Elvarg Release?

Although the Kickstarter is due to start later this year, it is unsure when we are due to see the actual game. Hopefully, the KickStarter will do well and we can see it at the end of the year. Steamforged Games are a trusted board game maker so it is expected to get some support.

If anything changes or we finally get a proper release date, we will update you right here.
