HIT THE TARGETS - As if racing wasn't hard enough? Now you have to shoot things too!

There's going to be four ways to race going forwards and we'll explain what each one means below:

  • Standard Races
    • This is a traditional race format, with checkpoints, laps... The whole shebang;
  • Open Races
    • In Open Races, it's up to you to pick the best route. All you need to do is make sure you're riding through all the Signal Fires on any given course;
  • Target Races
    • These are Standard Races, but the Checkpoints aren't traditional checkpoints. They're targets that you need to hit with a bow and arrow while on horseback;
  • Open Target Races
    • This is, as you might expect, an Open Race with the Target Checkpoints. Arguably the hardest, but most exciting, way to race.

We're not exactly sure about the distribution of these races yet, but the eight new races are going to be available for everyone playing Red Dead Online on May 25th. Rockstar Games will have more to announce soon...

For now, though, you can get your hands on TRIPLE Red Dead Online $ and XP when you're playing any of the current races. There's a free Horse Care package to claim too!

Summer Update Content Teasers

That isn't the only thing that Rockstar shared with us today. You've already got your Riding Chaps on, but now you're going to need your Bandana.

Red Dead Online's Summer Update is going to "add a diverse array of new missions across the world for those looking to step into the criminal underworld."

We don't know a lot about when this is coming just yet, but we do know that it looks like Red Dead Online is going to attempt to introduce a GTA Online-style update to the title in the coming months.

" Down in Saint-Denis, Angelo Bronte’s trusted lieutenant, Guido Martelli is working to create his own criminal network, so whether it’s intimidation, unsavoury crimes, or larger, high-stakes robberies — riders best be willing to do whatever it takes to earn their blood money."
