The latest update on PS4 became available on Wednesday, 18 November.
All we know so far is that “this system software update improves system performance”.

We know that this latest update is not the biggest.
The download size for Update 8.01 is just 479 MB, so it won’t take up too much of your time!
What else is in store?
So far there has been precious little information released about the update, other than the vague line that it will improve your consoles performance.
Could something more exciting be in the pipeline too? Will this update help optimize cross-play with the arrival of the PS5?
We would love this to be the case as Next Gen gaming has now arrived, and plenty of games have enabled cross-play this year.
For now we will have to be patient and see what Sony has in store.
