It is a time for celebrations for Nintendo right now, with Super Mario's 35th anniversary last year, and The Legend of Zelda's 35th anniversary and Pokemon's 25th anniversary in 2021.
No doubt Nintendo have many big things planned, much like Super Mario 35 which saw many new Mario related games and merchandise released.
But leakers may have already given us a first look at what is coming in 2021 for Pokemon.
Diamond and Pearl Remakes
February 27th will mark 25 years since Pokemon Red and Green were first released in Japan.
This also coincidentally is Pokemon Day, which is when we can expect the next big announcement from Nintendo and the Pokemon Company.
Spanish fansite Centro Pokémon have revealed that it is expected that the 4th gen remakes will be announced on February 27th to kick off the 25th anniversary of Pokemon.
In a post on their website, which has been roughly translated, they stated that,
"Pokémon Center can confirm that, according to sources close to the company, remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl , originally released in 2006 for the Nintendo DS, are in development for the Nintendo Switch ."
For many years fans have been asking for remakes of Diamond and Pearl.

The 3rd gen games, Ruby and Sapphire, were remade in 2014, and more recently we saw the 1st gen games get another remake with Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee.
Over recent years we've seen a cycle of new gen, remake, new gen, remake, and since the latest entry in the series was Pokemon Sword & Shield, it seems we are now due for a remake.
New Pokemon Snap
Along with potentially Diamond and Pearl remakes, we will also be seeing a new Pokemon Snap game, simply named New Pokemon Snap.
Yesterday Nintendo released a new trailer for the game and announced the release date for the game as April 30th.
This will be the second Pokemon Snap game to be released, with the first releasing on the N64 back in 1999.
When Will Diamond and Pearl Release?
Until the game is officially announced we won't know an exact release date for the game.
But generally they have been releasing in the later part of the year, September-November, so that would be a good indication of when to expect it.
