NHL 22: Core Gameplay Trailer
While we'll get a much more complete picture of core gameplay when the premiere lands, we got a first look with the NHL 22 gameplay trailer.
One big focus with that reveal was the addition of Superstar X Factor abilities, which will play a role in every single NHL 22 game mode.
On top of that, the trailer also gave us a look at the new Frostbite Game Engine, this year's enhanced stick physics, and an augmented reality UI that should make a big difference in overall game quality.
This will be the first year NHL 22 lands on next gen consoles, so the leap to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S should definitely be noticeable when paired with the upgraded engine and augmented reality UI.
You can see the initial gameplay trailer above as they go through each pillar of this year's upgraded gameplay.
As helpful as it will be to see the gameplay in action for an extended period of time, nothing compares to getting hands on time with the game and feeling the experience for yourself.
The good news is EA Play subscribers will have access to a 10-hour free trial of NHL 22 starting on October 7, 2021, which gives you a chance to try the game before placing a pre order.
