The new Bocek Bow is a weapon unlike anything Apex Legends has seen before and there's a new weapon class to accommodate its arrival!
However, the first title update following the Season 9 Legacy Update has already issued a pretty major nerf to the weapon. Here's everything we know.
LATEST - New Weapon Nerfs Are Here
Following the addition of the new Arena Flash Event, Respawn Entertainment has also implemented a weapon tuning update that issues a nerf to both the Bocek Bow and the Spitfire LMG.
Respawn Entertainment listen to fan feedback constantly and clearly they have been quick to act on it. We have the changes listed below:
Spitfire Nerf Changes
- Bullet Damage Reduced: 19-> 18
- Purple/Gold Magazine Reduced: 55 -> 50
Bocek Bow Nerf Changes
- Max Body Shot Damage: 70 -> 60
- Weapon Charge Time Increased: 0.54 -> 0.56
- Deadeye's Tempo Charge Increase : 0.32 -> 0.38
- Bocek Bow Stack Size: 16 -> 14
- Ammo Slot Reduction: 48 -> 28
Thankfully, it looks like Headshot Damage has been left untouched by Respawn Entertainment but the reduction in Max Body Shot Damage should offer you some protection if you're in a fight with someone who's good with a Bocek.
Bocek Bow
Apex Legends fans know the Bocek Bow well as a weapon that has been expected for some time, but it's finally here in the Legacy Update!
The Bocek Bow introduces the new ammo type, Arrows, and offers a nice change of pace to the game's weaponry.
If you want to get the most out of your Bocek Bow, you can also upgrade its sights, as well as popping on some other attachments like the Deadeye's Tempo or Shatter Caps.
New Trailer Shows Bocek Bow in Action
The Apex Legends Legacy Update Gameplay Trailer is a massive one at 6 minutes long, and reveals a ton of new content coming to the game.
This includes the new 3v3 Arena game mode, new Legend Valkyrie, some potential changes for the Olympus map, and the fantastic Bocek Bow.
Check out the Bocek Bow in action in the huge trailer below:
Legendary Loot Weapons
The latest tweet from @TitanfallBlog reveals which weapons in Season 9 will be legendary kitted weapons.
The following are all legendary kitted weapons in Season 9...
- Wingman
- Bocek
- R99
- Hemlock
- Sentinal
This also means that the weapons showcased at the bottom of the picture are no longer legendary kitted weapons in Season 9.
This just means that you'll find the above weapons inside Supply Drops and Loot Boxes, as Legendary Loot, whereas you will no longer find weapons like the Mozambique.
Presumably, that means these will now return to the standard floor loot pool.
Loba's Tactical Buffed
Loba’s tactical, Burglar’s Best Friend, was supposed to be a powerful teleport ability.
However, it didn't turn out to be quite as good as players had hoped.
Now, in the new Season 9 Legacy Update, the tactical ability has been buffed.
YouTuber Coffee ASAP has posted a video that details the differences between the ability in Season 8 and Season 9.
Loba can now run at full speed while using the ability, as opposed to just being able to walk.
But, there is a trade-off because her Ultimate has been nerfed with a longer cooldown, but its a compromise that should be worth it.
Hammerpoint Removed
The devs have decided to vault the Hammerpoint in Season 9.
Recently, they took to Reddit to explain the decision, citing that it is "overpowered".
“Long story short, because of buffing the base weapons, we would have to nerf the hop-up’s power so it wasn’t OP… the hop-up only really works as a high-risk high reward item, so it just didn’t work well anymore."
Confirmed New Weapons
Original Article
These leaks were our first look at some of the new weapons in Apex Legends Season 9, and the Legacy game update.
LEAK: Dragon LMG
Firstly, there could finally be another LMG coming to Apex Legends in Season 9.
The LMG is a bit of an under-represented weapon class in Apex Legends; however, this could be about to change as we look towards the next major title update for Respawn Entertainment's Battle Royale.
The "Dragon" LMG reportedly uses Light Ammo and has an in-game model already. This would suggest that it's coming sooner rather than later.
An LMG with Light Ammo could mean a few things. It will most likely be the weakest of the current LMG line-up but the smaller rounds could afford it a faster rate of fire.
Everyone familiar with Apex Legends will know that Fire Rate can be as important as damage as this raises the DPS significantly.
LEAK: Compound Bow
If there is one thing that makes Apex Legends stand out as a first-person shooter, it's the bullet physics in-game. Almost every projectile has a noticeable drop that has to be managed at range.
How could Respawn Entertainment improve on this? A Compound Bow, obviously! There's currently nothing like it in-game, either.
Notable Apex leaker Biast12, as seen above, has shared some minor details about this possible new weapon.
Unfortunately, there isn't anything to show us what this weapon might look like but it has been rumoured for quite a while. So, with the new evidence presented we could be seeing the Compound Bow arrive in Apex Legends sooner rather than later.
LEAK: EPG
We all know Titanfall Content is coming to Apex Legends in Season 9, but could it take the form of one of the new weapons?
Titanfall's EPG, a hard-hitting gun by any account, could be finding itself in Kings Canyon sooner than we think.
The EPG is an "Energy Propelled Grenade" that is exactly what it sounds like. It's a little bit Rocket Launcher, a little bit Grenade Launcher, and a lotta bit explosions.
Biast12 has reported that it is being tested in Apex Legends right now and it seems like it might be a little while away yet. However, that doesn't mean it isn't going to make an appearance in Apex Legends Season 9 as one of the new weapons we're expecting.
If it does appear, we're expecting it to have a different name and an updated icon. The one in the tweet above is a reused Titanfall 2 asset, allegedly.
Legacy Ranked Announced
Apex Legends' next major title update might not literally be called Season 9, but there's still going to be a Ranked Leagues refresh and we have all the new information about Apex Legends: Legacy Ranked right here.
The first thing to note is that there isn't really going to be any major changes to the way RP and Ranked Leagues work in Apex Legends going forwards.
According to Respawn Entertainment's Blog Post on Legacy Ranked, Season 8 was the most successful Ranked Season for Apex Legends to date. At some points, almost 50% of all matches being played were in Ranked playlists!
In the Tweet below, you can check out the new batch of Ranked Leagues rewards you can earn throughout the Legacy Season.
Legacy Ranked Map Split Dates
This season, World's Edge is back for the first split of this season's Ranked League and will be available until June 15th 2021. The second split will be all about Olympus and the rest of the season will keep you there.
