Thanks to the Animation Glossary, building your MyPLAYER is now easier. For accurately modelling your game, you can see specific animation requirements like height and attributes, and look for particular NBA play styles, such as SGA's smooth jumper or Curry's quick release.

Built by Badges

The Build by Badges system has brought some major changes in NBA 2K26. The game can now automatically lock required attributes after selecting the tiers and badges you want, ranging from Bronze to Legend. This guarantees that you get all your talents without having to jeopardize your chances of earning a 99 OVR.

Body Types & Visual Previews

New physique types will become available as you keep advising through the Gatorade Gym routines, but now they will have complete visual previews. This will help visualize what you will look like on the court.

Smart Build Templates

Players can now speed up creation using three template types:

  • NBA: Play like real-life stars with signature moves and styles.
  • Community: Coming in Season 2, featuring top builds from elite 2K players.
  • Pro-Tuned: The developer made builds tailored to your playstyle.

Additionally, there are now 10 times as many archetype names as there were last year, making builds more distinctive and detailed.

New Scouting Report

You'll now receive a Scouting Report at the end of the builder, which helps you avoid weak places before you enter the court. It will summarize your strengths, weaknesses, best badges, and vital traits.

Height Balancing & Building Diversity

NBA 2K26 guarantees that all heights are competitive via balanced gameplay tuning, promoting a wide range of viable builds, while still allowing you to build up to a 7'4" MyPLAYER.
