Nintendo brought out their Nintendo Mini Direct yesterday evening which showcased more information on Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak.
The Partner Showcase brought out new trailers for a variety of games including Nier Automata, Blanc, Return to Monkey Island, and Dreamlight Valley. But the most exciting out of the lot was the new monster added to Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak.
Sunbreak is out tomorrow June 30, so the trailer released yesterday has got fans even more pumped to get into the new jungle locale. Careful: Spoilers Ahead!
Sunbreak storyline
This is the first trailer from Nintendo which leaves hunters with a glimpse of the storyline included in the paid DLC, Sunbreak.
The narrator explains how the monster that we will see as the boss fight has come to the surface to push back other monsters. This has led to monsters from all over fleeing through the new village in Sunbreak, Elgado Outpost.
Monster boss fight
The new boss fight in Sunbreak will be against the Shagaru Magala. This is the monster that every other monster is fleeing from. This was expected to be Malzeno, but it is usual for the poster boy to not be the boss fight as was the same with the base game and Magnamalo.
The elder dragon was first introduced in Monster Hunter 4 so will be nostalgic for veteran hunters. This Sunbreak monster is the adult version of Gore Magala. Gore Magala must undergo a physical transformation like a butterfly to become Shagaru Magala.
The evasive elder dragon has much more base damage than Gore Magala. The hyper-aggressive enemy uses more physical attacks and uses a 'virus-breath' to harm its hunters. Similar to Valstrax, Shagaru jumps high into the air and delivers a big swooping aerial attack.
Seething Bazelgeuse
The new evolved Seething Bazelgeuse is a lot more than just angrier. His new blast radius has increased alongside his damage and the number of bombs that he drops from his skin in Sunbreak.
Regular Bazelgeuse was often seen engaging in fights between a hunter and another monster, he was an invading monster. However, now he cannot do that and will only fight if provoked alone.
The seething Bazelgeuse's improved attacks can be seen by his scales becoming orange to purple. The purple scales dropped deal way more damage and can be an issue due to the speed that they explode.
Release Roadmap for Sunbreak
The release roadmap was also added at the end of the direct to show hunters what else they should be expecting throughout the years.
