Monster Hunter Rise amiibo features explained

Since Monster Hunter Rise is a Nintendo Switch exclusive, not coming to PlayStation, PC, and Xbox yet at least, it should come as no surprise that it has its own amiibo.

We've got all the information you need to know about how the figures work in Capcom's game and how you use them.

How to Get Monster Hunter Rise Amiibo

There are three amiibo available for Monster Hunter Rise, which are:

  • Magnamalo amiibo (With physical Collector's Edition)
  • Palamute amiibo
  • Palico amiibo

You can buy each of the amiibo separately, but you'll also get the Magnamalo amiibo with the Collector's Edition of the game.

How to Use Amiibo

With the Monster Hunter Rise amiibo in hand, you'll be able to place it on your right joycon controller (over the NFC reader to the bottom of it).

Then, your system should recognise the chip inside the figure and your amiibo will be activated in game.

How to Claim Special Layered Armor

Hopefully, getting the special layered armor that's granted by using each of the three Monster Hunter Rise amiibo is quite easy.

More Help: How to Play With Friends

We haven't tried it ourselves with the figures just yet, but your character, Palamute, and Palico should automatically have the armor on when starting the game with an amiibo active.

As soon as we've had the chance to test it for ourselves, we'll confirm how it works.

Also, Capcom has said that "you can also play a daily lottery to win various useful items!"

It's not clear how that'll work yet, but we'll know once the game is live on March 26.
