MLB The Show 21 Road to the Show (RTTS)
If you're looking for a single player experience in MLB The Show 21, Road to the Show is the ultimate Career Mode and saw some major improvements this year.
While this wasn't the first year we've seen Road to the Show (RTTS), it's gotten some much-needed care with a rework of the player creation, now Ballplayer, and other added features.
From the ways Road to the Show will adjust to your decisions in MLB The Show 21 to Ballplayer and more, here's everything you need to know.
Road to the Show Survival Guide
MLB The Show 21 will reach more new fans than perhaps any game in series history - as this will be the first release on Xbox consoles.
That means plenty of newer players will be trying MLB The Show 21 Road to the Show for the first time.
To help you along your journey through the minors, here's our MLB The Show 21 RTTS survival guide to get you started on the right foot.
Career Mode adapts to your choices
One of the first things players might notice in Road to the Show is that your own decisions are affecting the way things go, and that was a major focus in the way things were improved this year.
Players had previously complained that the game didn't even seem to notice or care how you'd performed, and that was changed for MLB The Show 21.
Early decisions can be made by the player about what team you want to be drafted by, whether you're interested in being a two-way player or would rather focus on one position, and the game's in-game podcast will be different based on your decisions.
Ballplayer
This year, your create-a-player for Road to the Show filters through the new Ballplayer mechanic in MLB The Show 21.
You can access this by heading to the top left corner of the main menu, and you can then customize the appearance and details of your Ballplayer.
This won't be exclusive to Road to the Show, as your Ballplayer can also be taken into Diamond Dynasty once they're ready to beef up your Ultimate Team.
Loadouts
One of the new mechanics introduced in MLB The Show 21 is Loadouts, and this plays a major role in Road to the Show.
Loadouts are essentially temporary skill boosts, and they'll make your Ballplayer more powerful at one specific aspect of the game.
How you choose Loadouts will depend largely on the position and playstyle you decided to use, and you'll be able to unlock more powerful boosts as you progress in the game.
Two-Way Player
This year, Road to the Show allows players to become a true two-way player in MLB The Show 21.
When you first begin Road to the Show with your custom Ballplayer, initial conversations with a decision tree for your answers will allow you to state a preference towards a position.
You'll also have the option to pursue being a true two-way player, but rest assured this decision isn't set in stone and can be changed down the line if you decide to focus on one position.

Choose Your Team
Where your Ballplayer ends up getting drafted in Road to the Show will be determined by your very first conversation and decisions.
You can choose to leave it up to the game or pick a type of club, but you can also specify exactly which team you want to be drafted by.
You may have to go through a few different answers and clarification in the conversation, but you will eventually arrive at the above screen where you can select the exact team you want.

Minor League Baseball
Road to the Show begins in the Minor Leagues, long before your Ballplayer hits the majors in MLB the Show 21.
It's an exciting part of this year's game that really drives home the reality of working your way up in professional baseball.
There was even input from players and staff involved in minor league teams, which played a crucial role in developing Road to the Show in MLB The Show 21.
