On Saturday, 30 January Gamestop leaked the cover for the upcoming MLB The Show 21, and two huge pieces of news have been revealed!
Here's what's on it's way to MLB The Show 21.
MLB The Show 21 Cover Athlete Revealed
Sony appears to have chosen Fernando Tatis Jr. as their cover athlete.
Not only is Tatis one of the game’s rising superstars coming off a season that saw him finish fourth in National League MVP voting, the 22-year-old also has the style and swag that major league baseball is trying to embrace as it labors to endear its sport to a younger crowd.
On top of those two very important factors, Tatis Jr. also plays for the San Diego Padres, which is local for the development studio that produces The Show.
MLB The Show 21 Coming to Xbox Consoles!
The other big piece of news is that MLB The Show 21 is on it's way to Xbox Consoles.
We actually see the cover art for the Xbox One, and a more generic look for the One X/S.
However, the fully conveyed PS5 cover suggests the game will make its way to the new generation of Microsoft systems as well.
Many, including Steve Noah of Operation Sports are expecting to see The Show 21 officially announced on Monday, February 1.
Sony has already said news would be coming in February, but with such definitive marketing assets floating around over the weekend, it stands to reason the official reveal would be soon.
